The 'One Size Fits All' Concept

I've heard there are some stores these days that sell clothes in one size. I used to get annoyed when I would see the term 'one size fits all' on hats and scarves and things- because what if someone had an abnormally large head? Or  a small head? We don't group expect people to all wear the same size shoes. Why? Because everyone has different sized feet. Do why jeans, shirts and dresses? Take a look at this BuzzFeed video, where women of different sizes try on some of these 'one size fits all' clothes.

What I don't like about this new fad is that it's very exclusive- it makes people who can't fit into these clothes believe they aren't of an accepted shape or size. It sends the message that 'all' people who should be able to wear this certain brand of clothing should be a certain body type or a certain weight.

The solution to this 'one size fits all' is pretty simple- SIZES. Let women and men go into a store, and find what they like to wear in their SIZE. There's no shame in wearing an extra-large tank top if it fits you the right way. 'One size fits all' isn't saving anyone the time or the trouble. Sure, nobody likes to spend hours trying things on but until we're rich and can afford to have our entire wardrobes custom made or tailored, it's a small price to pay for looking and feeling beautiful in the body you are in.

One size never fits all.
