Is This The Future?

Online shopping was a wonderful invention because it allowed all of us lazy sweatpant-lovers to stay home and shop from the comfort of our bed.

But what if it were even easier?

What if you didn't even have to log in? What if buying what you needed was as easy as the push of a button?

Well, now it is. Literally.

I give you, the Amazon 'Dash'. It's literally a button that you link to your amazon account. You assign it to a product (lets use laundry detergent as an example) and then stick it in your house (in this case probably near your washer/dryer). When you're doing the laundry a week later and realize you're almost out of Tide, simply click your handy button and the order places automatically. The Tide will show up on your doorstep in two days.

It actually looks sort of cute, stuck on that washing machine. It's not even just Tide. Huggies, Gatorade, Bounty and Gillette are just a few more of your button options.

As a nanny of four, all I can think of is how much they'd love to press this and order a thousand rolls of paper towels when they got mad at me. (In regards to that, you do apparently get sent a sales receipt to your phone with a chance to cancel, just in case.)

What do you think? Do we really need more shortcuts in the world today? Isn't it nice to sometimes have to leave the house to grab something? Or is this the kind of thing you've been waiting all your life for? I imagine by this time next year Kara will own every one of these.
