All The Rest

You guessed it!

This is where you'll be able to find 'all the rest'- the stuff that doesn't really fit into one of the other specific categories. This is probably where most of our guest posts will be featured.

This is where the magic happens.
(hypothetically speaking, of course.)

I Heart New York

Obviously because I'm a fan of hotdog carts and FRIENDS. But in recent news, it's also been announced that New York is the ONLY state in America where men do not out earn women.

Yes, you hear me correctly. One state in the whole country. The average wage that women make in the other states is 72-89 cents to every male 1$ earned. In New York, women make slightly more than men at an average of $1.02 to every male 1$ earned. These statistics are also among millenials (a person reaching young adulthood around the year 2000), which also include the fact that millenial women are more likely to have a college degree than millenial men.

Maybe one day there will be more states heading in the right direction, but progress is progress. Thank you New York State. You're beautiful, as always.

UBER Cool.

In honour of National Alcohol Screening Day (yes, it's a real thing) I thought I'd let you know what a cool thing UBER Canada is doing in Toronto.

(If you don't know what Uber is, it's a car service via app that offers great prices and a much-less-sketchy experience and they're located in several countries around the world.)

It's just a test as far as I know, but they've installed a breathalyzer machine on the street. If you're results are above the legal limit, an Uber Car is called for you and they'll drive you home...FOR FREE.

Also, in case you're a germaphobe like me and were wondering, you blow into a straw that the machine dispenses. Don't worry.

They also mention in the ad that drunk driving in Canada triples after midnight. Which is an absolutely terrifying statistic.

Thank you Uber, for trying to make the world a safer place.

You Rule, Parker.

If you're a lady, you know all too well that when you're PMS-ing and you want ice cream, you NEED ice cream.

Well thanks to Parker Jones, a graphic design student at Oklahoma State University, you can have it.

It's ice cream that says exactly what we're thinking/feeling during that 'special time'.  She told Seventeen Magazine "I thought, 'Why do I eat ice cream?' I crave it when I'm PMSing! From there, I came up with the three stages of PMS: "I Think I'm Dying", "Don't Come Near Me" and "Give Me More," all of which are how I feel when I'm cramping, pissed off, and craving ice cream."

Right now it's just a design of course, but that doesn't make it any less genius/hilarious.

Meet Harold Ekeh

Have you ever gone to bed at night and said to yourself 'I probably could've had a more productive day'? Sure you have. Everyone has. Right?

Probably not 18 year old Harold Ekeh. He was just accepted to 8 Ivy League Schools. Did ya hear that? EIGHT.

Harold moved to the United States with his family ten years ago from Nigeria, and is editor in chief of his school newspaper. He has until May 1st to make his decision, but according to news articles he's leaning toward Yale at the moment.

“Kids would say, ‘I want to be a firefighter or a police officer or a superhero’,” said Harold in a statement to CBS News.  “I would say I want to explore the human body, what makes us who we are. I would like to be a neurosurgeon when I grow up.”

I don't doubt for a second that we'll be hearing about Harold in the future. (I also don't doubt that he may be some sort of super hero.)

Now please excuse me while I go try and accomplish something other than setting new binge-watching records on Netflix.
